The open design also allows light to penetrate the amethyst crystal from above adding to the glow of the stone. Kent cut the amethyst himself, gaining the balance of form he envisions for the piece, adding accents of gorgeous red spinels and fine granulation detail. Adding to the 'floating' quality is the great spin this piece has as it swivels and moves freely from the bail. The bail opens, and securely closes, allowing you to wear it on chains, beads or pearls that may have a larger clasp.
